Drew Kopp enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Explorers and brings seven years of professional experience to the sidelines. Kopp has been a Philadelphia KiXX defender for his entire professional indoor career, debuting Nov. 25, 2000 against the Wichita Wings. He was a member of the KiXX when they won the Major Indoor Soccer League title in 2002 and he helped them to the MISL Championship again in April. He has played almost 200 games in his career with Philadelphia and his highlights with the KiXX include a five-point game versus the San Diego Sockers (Nov. 30, 2003) and a season-high 15 points and 46 blocks during the 2003-04 season. He was also named the MISL Player of the Month in April 2006. Kopp has also spent six professional seasons in the A-League/USL 1st Division - three seasons for the Hershey Wildcats, two with the Montreal Impact, and one with the Charleston Battery - compiling over 100 games as a centerback and outsideback. Currently, Kopp is an assistant coach for both the FC Delco Sting U15 and the FC Delco Lightning U18. The Sting are two-time state champions and were a 2005 Region 1 finalists. A 1999 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Kopp played both forward and midfielder for the Panthers during his four-year career and finished tied for fifth in all-time points. During his high school days, he was selected as a Regional All-American and All-State member as a senior at Cedar Crest in Lebanon, PA. Kopp is married to his wife Kristin. |
