2007 Academic All-Area Field Hockey Team

La Salle University junior Maria Allegretto has been selected to the 2007 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Field Hockey team. The Coatesville, PA native was one of 11 student-athletes selected to the team by sports information directors from 28 area institutions. 

Allegretto had a career year in 2007, finishing the season with six goals and two assists. Her 14 total points were third-best on the team.  She led all Explorers with two game-winning goals on the year, versus Sacred Heart (9/2) and Lafayette (9/16).

This is the second postseason award for Allegretto, who was named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team last month.
