PHILADELPHIA, PA- Senior defender Walter McMahon (Norristown, PA) has been named to the Philadelphia Inquirer 'Academic All-Star Team', announced at the men's soccer banquet held on Sunday morning.

The finance major was one of only 12 student-athletes to receive this award in the Philadelphia area. McMahon was already named to the A-10 Academic All-Conferece Team, as well as the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Team this season.

McMahon will begin his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, not straying far from 20th & Olney.

He is a big reason why the 2007 Explorer squad was awarded the National Soccer Coaches Athletic Association (NSCAA) College Team Academic Award for a 3.16 cumulative GPA during the 2006-07 academic year. The blue and gold were one of only 73 teams in the country that both the men's and women's teams were recognized.
