New Haven, CT -- The La Salle golf team made their first appearance at the Yale Spring Opener this weekend a Yale Golf Course.

In the first day of the competition Explorer golfers compiled a 311 as senior Chris Caimano finished with a team-best 74 - four over par.

Day two of the event brough cold and wintery conditions in which the team shot a combined 320 with junior Steve Sieracki posting a six over score of 76.

The Explorers finished 23rd in the 27-team field with a two-round team score of 631.  Harvard won the event with a team score of 585- 25 over par.

Sieracki was the top Explorer finisher in 65th place out of 148 entrants with a 13 over par 153.  Caimano finished just behind Sieracki in 73rd with a 14 over score of 154.

Phil Bruce finished 98th, Mike Benzinger scored a two-day total of 166 while Wes Licklider finished with 180.
