Coach Miller enters his 2nd season as the Head Football Coach for La Salle University after serving a year as the Explorer's linebacker coach.

At La Salle: Miller brings over 17 years of coaching and teaching experience to La Salle. After the 1988 season, where he was a member of the Temple University football program playing under current NFL assistant Bruce Arians, Miller began his coaching career on the high school level, where he spent most of his 17 years coaching. During his high school coaching years Miller coached every position, and served as an offensive, defensive coordinator and/or head coach while working at Wissahickon, Germantown Academy and North Penn High Schools. During this time, Miller helped Wissahickon win its first Freedom Division Championship in 1992 with a 9-2 record. Miller was also a part of the North Penn coaching staff that broke Central Bucks West long time win streak. When working at Germantown Academy, Coach Miller helped the program win back to back Inter Ac Championships.

During the 1997 season, Coach Miller worked with the Division I-A Temple University football coaching staff, under the direction of Ron Dickerson. From 2004 to 2005, Coach Miller spent time learning from Coach Dick Vermeil and the Kansas City Chiefs Coaching staff. He spent time with the organization during spring and summer practices, and made trips during the 2004 season. Coach Miller found that his philosophy was close to the philosophy of Coach Vermeil. "Coach Vermeil is one of the most sincere and loyal people I have ever met," stated Miller. Miller goes on to state a quote from Coach Vermeil. "Players will not care how much you know until they know how much you care." Miller believes that this statement is at the core of his personal philosophy. "I have always been fortunate to have the loyalty of my players. I believe this is because I have always cared deeply about any young man that has ever played for an organization which I have coached. I believe this is also why Coach Vermeil has had so many loyal players over the years."

In 2006 Coach Miller and the Explorer coaching staff implemented the program's philosophy. The ideas of faith, service and winning in all aspects of life are now understood by Explorer players. The 2006 season ended with a 37-28 victory over St. Peter's. The youth of the program (10 freshman had starting roles during the season) began to mature as the season progressed.

Coach Miller and the staff were proud that the players began to win off of the field as well. During the first semester under the new staff's watch, 78% of the players improved their overall GPA. The program had 38 players receive over a 3.0 GPA. In the community, players displayed the winning attitude by being involved on a weekly basis with the Big Brother's organization. The football program held a field day for Logan elementary school for over 200 elementary kids. Miller is proud that the winning attitude is beginning to show. "We emphasize winning at everything. I hate to hear people say that winning is not everything. I believe working to win is everything. Yes, we might not win all of the time, but we work to win all of the time. Winning is an attitude that must be present in all aspects of our life. We will work to win in the classroom, community, weight room and on the football field," says Miller.

The Explorer football program has been extremely visible on campus. The program actively worked to support other programs on La Salle's campus. The entire football program attended the spring jazz band concert. The program was present at the luncheon honoring women in sports along with several other campus events. Miller believes that supporting the programs at La Salle University is a part of building a winning program. "We are fortunate to have members of La Salle come to watch us play," commented Miller. "If we want the support to continue and grow larger, we must show our support for their efforts on campus. We are working hard to put together a winning program. The support of members of our community is essential in this development."

Coach Miller serves as a Big Brother to a 3rd grade student at Logan Elementary School.
