AMHERST, MA- The La Salle Explorers completed the Atlantic 10 Championships at the University of Massachusetts on Sunday afternoon as the men's team took third place overall and the women grabbed seventh.  All individual winners except the Decathlon event go to NCAA Regionals. 

 

Steven Rendall was named `C0-Performer of the Meet' after taking both the 110m (14.53) and the 400m (53.50)- a personal best.

 

Rachel Papin became the first-ever three-time winner in the 5,000m race, winning in 16:27.48 (which eclipsed her previous record by more than six seconds, set in 2006).


 

 

 

For the men Rhode Island won the event and Charlotte took second, and on the women's side Charlotte took the title with Rhode Island in second.   

 

The men's 4x400m team won (3:14.20), they were -Jared Davis, Billy Rhea, Andrew Maxwell to James Tchabo (who came from behind in the last 100m to win). 

 

Other winners included William Rhea in the 800m (1:51.73), Korey Edwards in the 1500m (3:53.64), Sean Quigley in the 5000m (14:16.60).  Adam Woodford won the Decathlon (6150) to qualify for IC4As. 

 

For the women Carolyn Lipovsky took third in the 1500m (4:39.85) and Christa Plummer took second in the Steeplechase and fifth in the 5K- she qualified for both events at NCAA Regionals.
